I am an expat mom to two gorgeous kids and a wife to a workaholic husband. I am a serious foodie, I love to eat! After many years of reading everything I could get my hands on about the connection between our health and the food that we eat I eventually got fed up with how confusing the information out there can be. Nowadays you can find a argument for or against pretty much anything. Not to mention how reductionist we have become in how we look at food and health. So I signed up with the Institute of Health Sciences in Dublin Ireland to study Nutritional Therapy. I have learn't so much more than I ever expected to. With my first year completed I am now qualified as a Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach, meaning I can now help other people achieve their health goals and do it in a way that is sustainable and enjoyable. I have enjoyed learning not only about nutrition but also about coaching, the two go hand in hand. After all most of us know what we need to do but yet we still struggle to do it, and that is where the power of a coach comes in. This has been the best decision I have made for the health of my family and I want my kids to grow up with healthy habits and a love for food just like me.
"Food is not just fuel it is nourishment, enjoyment, social connectivity, traditions, memories, medicine and so much more."
Why am I here:
Food is something every single one of us has in common. It is part of our daily lives. We may eat different things or eat for different reason but we all need to eat. When I first started studying Nutrition I did it to help myself and my family, but now I want to help more people out there. I see too many people who have so much anxiety over what to eat and so many people are confused by all the contradictory information out there, I remember feeling that way and I want to help people to move past that and enjoy their food. I want to share information on how we can eat better each and everyday and enjoy it. My focus is on nutrition and lifestyle habits that become part of your normal day, working with the whole body rather than individual symptoms and getting the body back into balance.
I don't believe in diets, I don't believe in restrictions or deprivation, I believe in health, good food, enjoyment, managing stress and getting to understand your own body and it's individual needs.
"Your health and happiness starts with you and by creating healthy habits that work for you, you can achieve your goals in an enjoyable way that will last a lifetime."
As a Nutrition and Lifestyle coach I find it very satisfying working one on one with people helping them to create personalised plans for their health and then watching as these people see the benefits. It truly is rewarding to see people thrive and knowing that they will continue to thrive.
I would love to hear from you. Send me an email anytime, I am always happy to talk, especially over a good cup of coffee.
